101 Tasks In 1001 Days

So with the new school year starting I’ve decided to join forces with some other bloggers and participate in

The Challenge:

To set oneself 101 tasks, each to be completed over a period of 1001 days. Tasks should be realistically achievable and yet demanding! The list should be clear and unambiguous.

My Reasons:

I saw this idea on another blog and felt it to be the perfect challenge for me because being a stay-at-home mum of eight, it’s easy to let the years roll by, concentrating, for the most part on just the children and the husband, and in the process losing sight of oneself

My List (the first 10) Start date: September 1 2011

  • Plan weekly dinners for last two weeks of September
  • Get out once a week without the children during the month of September
  • Re-organize the children’s rooms by the end of September.
  • Return library books ON TIME
  • Plan Halloween costumes, party by the beginning of October.
  • To not raise my voice when speaking to the children – in other words no yelling at them (Sept 1 – 7)
  • Not to buy / allow fast food mor ethan three times in September
  • Ensure children’s IEP’s are completed by their schools by the third week of September
  • Read a book that is not child focused
  • See a movie that isn’t a children’s film.

  1. I am liking the idea of the 101 task in 1001 days, I do not know if I could keep to it, you sound like you are going to have a busy September. I think the hardest part would be the not yelling, I am not very good at yelling more or a shriek, however despite trying to stay calm, at times things just all go wrong and a yell makes everything seem better for a few seconds! Good Luck

    • Thanks Emma – I have to agree – yellling for me is what works (usually) to at least get the attention of 8 children! I am not sure how long it will take me to accomplish this task – lol

  3. I love your blog – just found it! As for the cold sores, my sister and I have been plagued with them all our lives. Hers were so bad that her thumb would be covered with them since she sucked her thumb until she was eight. Then, a miracle! My grandmother told us about lysine, an enzyme that you can get at any supermarket or drugstore for cheap. As soon as I felt a cold sore coming on, I would start taking the pills every hour or so, or when I remembered, for a dy or two. Stopped the cold sore in it’s tracks. Nowadays, I just take one every morning with the rest of my vitamins and I have not had a cold sore in many, many years. I am 63 years old. Lysine is harmless – check with your doctor or pharmacist – and do all of you a favor. Those cold sores are painful! I look forward to reading your blog regularly! Thanks!
